Here is how we take care of our own, together.

Initiative 01Client Giving

How to Contribute (The Accordion Gift)

When you book a session with The Kindred Folk Cottage, you will see an option to add a $75 contribution to The Kinship Fund. 100% of this goes toward funding a storytelling session for a family in need. To honor your generosity, I will gift you an exclusive set of three 3×3 linen-wrapped accordion mini books. Featuring magnetic closures and 10 visual highlights from our time together, these tangible little keepsakes are perfect for tossing in a diaper bag or mailing to grandparents. You help me tell another family's story, and I give you a beautiful piece of yours.

Initiative 02Nomination

Nominate a Family

Do you know a family in our community who is weathering a tough season? Maybe they have just welcomed a baby amidst a job loss, are navigating a diagnosis, or simply give everything to others and never ask for anything in return. I want to hear about them. Use the form below to share their story with me. Nominations are kept strictly confidential, and chosen families are reached out to gently and privately.

Initiative 03Community Trade

Quarterly Trade & Barter Weekends

A different kind of currency. Outside of the Kinship Fund, I also believe in the old-world value of a village economy. One weekend every single quarter, I open my calendar exclusively for trade and barter sessions. Are you a baker, a mechanic, a seamstress, or a fellow artist? If you have a good or service to trade, your money is no good here. We will exchange your craft for my storytelling. It is a return to a simpler, slower way of doing things, and it is one of my favorite ways to gather with our local community. Keep an eye on my journal and social pages for the announcement of the next Trade & Barter weekend, or reach out directly if you have a trade in mind.

Held in quiet kinship
“Because documenting your family’s folklore shouldn't be a luxury reserved for a few.”

I believe deeply that every family deserves to have their story archived. But I also know that life is heavy, and in seasons of hardship, professional photography is often the first thing to be quietly set aside. The Kinship Fund is how we bridge that gap. It is a community-driven initiative designed to gift fully funded Signature Storytelling Sessions—complete with physical, heirloom prints—to families who are navigating difficult waters and could use a reminder of their own beautiful resilience.

“When our daughter was in treatment, the last thing we could think about was scheduling family pictures. The quiet afternoon we spent at the cottage gave us our breath back. The framed print on our wall is our most precious possession.”
